Places of the jewish past in Belarus
(8 days / 7 nights)

Day 1: Arrival at the National airport "Minsk".  Transfer to the Belarus hotel. Dinner.
Day 2: Breakfast. Meeting in the Minsk Jewish Community House. Meet with jafi representatives and parents of children who has made aliyah to Israel. Learn about youth programs that jafi has created. Sightseeing tour around Minsk with visiting the places of the traditional residing of Jews, territories of a former Jewish ghetto and "The Holes"- the  memorial to Jews victims of the Nazi genocide in Belarus. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3:

Breakfast. Travel to Mir - Slonim - Baranovichi. In 1815 in Mir it has been based yeshiva which has existed up to 1939. After reunification of the Western with Eastern Belarus it has moved to Vilno, and after the occupation of the Lithuania by the Soviet Army in 1940 yeshiva's pupils have moved to Shanghai. After World War II in Jerusalem and New York were open yeshivas "Mir". In Mir the group looks round also the Mir Castle where Nazis shot Jews.

Before the war 1941-1945 75% of the population of Slonim was Jewish. The synagogue of the XVII century - unique in Belarus where it was kept the former interior and also synagogue of the XIX century and restored Jewish Cemetery are visited.

In Baranovichi the Jewish settlement has appeared at the end of the XIX century. Here was Residence of Chassidic rabbis of Koydanovo and Slonim dynasties. Visit the territory of a former Jewish ghetto and memorial complex "Gay" - place of extermination of Jews during the Nazi occupation.

Day 4:

Early departure from Baranovichi to Radun – Volozhin through Novogrudok.

The pupils of Novogrudok yeshiva spent a lot of time in posts and conducted a wandering way of life - came in the most deaf communities also preached bases of Judaism. In Radun the yeshiva's building was kept. Here has lived and has died in 1933 the great expert of Judaism Hofetz Haim who is buried on a local cemetery.

Dinner in Lida town. Stop in Volozhin where was "Emayeshiva"- Mother of the yeshivas. Founded in 1803 it has existed up to 1926.

Arrival in Minsk. Accommodation at the Belarus hotel. Dinner.

Day 5: Breakfast. Departure to Vitebsk. On a way visiting the memorial complex "Khatyn" - a monument to victims of fascism in Belarus, including hundreds thousand exterminated Jews. On arrival in Vitebsk - accommodation at the Luchesa hotel.  Dinner.
Day 6:

Breakfast. Meeting in the Vitebsk Jewish Community. Visiting the Marc Chagall's house–museum and art-center, the Jewish Cultural Center, the branch of the International Scientific-Educational Center "The Holocaust", places of mass extermination of Jews during the war 1941-1945.

The Jewish community in Vitebsk has been formed in the beginning of the XVI century. In 1630 the building of the synagogue has been constructed and the Jewish burial place has been opened. From the end of the XVIII century the city becomes one of the centers of a habad study in the hasidism, in the XIX century - the center of the orthodox Judaism. In Vitebsk were born Menahim Mendel - the founder of the hasidism, Rivka Guber – the public figure, Beskin and Maze – the military leaders of Israel.

Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7:

Breakfast. Departure to Minsk. On a way - visiting the Museum of the Nature in the Berezinsky reserve, or a Museum of the Folk Arts in Raubichi.

Accommodation at the Belarus hotel. Dinner.

Day 8: Breakfast. Transfer to the National airport "Minsk".
